NID Entrance 2026
The NID 2026 entrance exam consists of two stages of the Design Aptitude Test (DAT): Prelims and Mains, assessing candidate's knowledge, skills, and behavioral abilities. B.Des candidates must complete both Prelims and Mains, while M.Des candidates also need to attend a Portfolio/Interview.

The National Institute of Design (NID) is a premier design school in India, known for its innovative programs and commitment to design education. Established initially in Ahmedabad in 1961, NID has expanded to include multiple campuses across the country. It offers undergraduate (B.Des) and postgraduate (M.Des) programs in various design fields like industrial design, communication design, and textile design.
- 03. Who is eligible for the NIFT program?
For UG Programs: Maximum age limit: 24 years; pass in the +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern from a recognized board. For PG Programs: No age limit; Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute/ University recognized by law in India.
- 04. Who is eligible for the NID Program?
Qualification for B.Des: Candidates must have completed 12th grade or an equivalent in Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, or any recognized stream from a reputable board.
Age Requirements: General & EWS (Indian): Born on/after July 1, 2004 Reserved (OBC-NCL, ST, SC Indian): Born on/after July 1, 2001 PWD Reserved (Indian): Born on/after July 1, 1999 Foreign Overseas: Born on/after July 1, 2004 Qualification for M.Des: Bachelor’s degree in any specialization with a 4-year duration, or 4-year diploma in Design, Applied Arts, Fine Arts, or Architecture after 12th, or 3-year graduation degree in any field from a recognized institution.
